Position Description

Mission Australia Housing is an innovative, collaborative and values-driven Tier One housing organisation with a fantastic growth strategy and an exciting future.

As part of the Mission Australia Group, they currently manage over 2,000 properties, providing social and affordable rental housing to low and moderate-income households and a safe place to call home for over 3,500 tenants across Australia.

In consortium with major developers Frasers Property Group and Citta Property Group, they were recently announced as the winners of a major NSW Government tender to transform Macquarie Park's Ivanhoe public housing estate into a vibrant, integrated neighbourhood.  This redevelopment will seamlessly integrate private housing with at least 950 new social housing dwellings and 128 affordable homes.

Due to this unprecedented growth and their exciting forecasted plans to double the size of the organisation over the coming few years through winning major Government tenders and strategic development partnerships, they have created a leadership opportunity for a General Manager, Operations to join their Executive team and be a key part of this fantastic success story.

Reporting to the Executive, Housing you will have extensive experience at Executive or Senior Management level within the social housing sector, with a demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects within tight timeframes, influence and negotiate with stakeholders at senior level, whilst assuming responsibility for the operational budgeting and management and guidance of the housing services delivery team.

In addition, you will have demonstrated knowledge of social housing systems and policy with the ability and proven experience to identify partnership opportunities between Not for Profits, the private sector and Government, with a clear understanding of Government requirements and decision-making processes in relation to tenders and funding of new business.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and inspiring professional who will lead their team of 30 current staff with 3 direct reports on the next steps of this exciting journey to achieve the strategic goals of the organisation in line with their values, mission and purpose.

In return you will be rewarded with a competitive base salary and full Not-for-profit salary packaging benefits.

To be considered for this exciting and rewarding opportunity you must meet the above criteria and have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency Status.
