2013 Awards Cycle

Nomination Summaries

In 2013 the Institute received 73 nominations from all Australian States and New Zealand. 

There were an amazing collection of nominations, outlining successful projects and inspiring stories from housing authorities, small and large community housing providers, from tenants and dedicated teams. There were some really hard decisions for the AHI’s Award Committee Members as all of the nominations were very inspiring.

The National Winners for the 2013 Australasian Professional Excellence in Housing Awards

The National Winners for the 2013 Australasian Professional Excellence in Housing Awards were announced on 31st October 2013 at the Awards Presentation Dinner during the National Housing Conference 2013 in Adelaide. People from all around Australasia had an opportunity to gather together to celebrate the success and achievements of housing professionals, hear inspirational stories and congratulate the worthy winners. Hon Tony Piccolo, Minister for Social Housing in SA attended the ceremony and presented the Award for Outstanding Achievement and Dr Duncan McFetridge MP, Shadow Minister for Social Housing in SA closed the event and presented the Excellence in Social Housing Award.
This year the Institute received 73 nominations from across the Australian States and New Zealand. The State Winners for the 2013 AHI Professional Excellence in Housing Awards were announced on the 1st of October 2013 and only 34 successful nominees were entered into the National Awards.

Central Park Upgrade Project, City Housing, Wellington City Council, NZ was Highly Commended for the Award

Leading Asset Management Awards
Joint Award to Caretaker Diploma Program, BHC, QLD and Improving Tenant Safety by Making Buildings Safer in Earthquakes Project, Housing NZ Corporation 

Leading Tenants Engagement Practice Award
Pacific Link Housing New Tenant Engagement Strategy, NSW
