Current Certified Housing Professionals

Certified Housing Professional (CHP) is the accreditation awarded to housing professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to their profession and continuing professional development. Click here to read more about AHI Professional Accreditation and Recognition.

It is our great pleasure to see the growing success of the recently launched social housing professional accreditation (CHP) program. Since the program launch, more than 50 housing professionals have become accredited, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to the profession and willingness to develop their skills.

Interested in becoming a Certified Housing Professional, but still have some questions? Every 3 months the Institute runs a free introductory webinar, where Donella Roberts, AHI Learning and Development Manager, will guide you through the accreditation process.  Click here to find out about the upcoming webinar and register online!

  • " I’m so pleased, dare I say “chuffed to bits”, with becoming a level 2 Certified Housing Professional. Becoming a certified member of the AHI gives me personally, a legitimacy to my contribution of working in the social housing industry. This is especially true for me here at City Housing - Wellington City Council, where I’m able to fully utilise and now be recognised for the use of my architectural skills and background. Becoming a Certified Housing Professional gives me the opportunity, through my certification and membership, to support, grow and strengthen our industry across Australasia."

-- Ivan Burton, Project Manager, City Housing, Wellington City Council, New Zealand

  • " Becoming a Certified Housing Professional validates my commitment to social housing and continuing my education in this area. I feel strongly about increasing my knowledge to ensure I am providing the tenants of City Housing, Wellington City Council with the best possible service to support all tenancies. Thanks to AHI for providing a range of accreditation options making it a smooth process for gaining certification. I am pleased City Housing supported my application, and to have achieved this certification only a few months after signing up for it is very pleasing. "

-- Laura Rutten, Tenancy Advisor, City Housing, Wellington City Council, New Zealand

  • " To remain relevant we need to make sure we remain current with what is happening in our sector. The CHP accreditation programme is for housing professionals who have made a commitment to invest in themselves and in doing so to invest in the capability of the sector. The programme recognises people who are investing in their professional development and provides evidence their skills and knowledge remain up to date, providing comfort to employers that they remain professionally relevant. "

-- Greg Orchard, Chief Operating Officer, Wellington City Council, New Zealand
